Dawn’s Love

With the coming morn
The sunlight sweetly kisses
Each leaf with dawn’s love.

Nudes Ascending Stairs, Sonnet 14 – a Petrarchan

In the cavernous dark of circumstance,
Blind love shines from deep within eager eyes,
A beacon for relentless lovers’ cries
To finally find true deliverance.
Lying buried beneath this steaming glance
Are woven lips from which a lone laugh flies
That escaped from tangled beholden thighs
In the rhythmic step of Love’s oldest dance.
Ascending we enter through heaven’s gate;
The path to our destination is shown,
Lit by blinding passion bright as the sun,
Burning with eternal fire fanned by fate
Where our entwined arms weave the warmth of home,
And the rhythm of our hearts become one.
