Where new seed is sown
Sparrow, goldfinch, rook, and crow
Do not dare come near
If your body is dangling
Close at hand to the boundary.

From Middle English Literature page 82  “The Owl and the Nightingale” – sentence three is line 1129-1132 – Translated from early Middle English into a Tanka.
